Alan Kay_Tomorrow's Child
Alan Kay talks about tomorrow’s child. View the videos.
Kids@Play 2010 has come and gone. We created a day of reflection, predictions and celebration. Starting the day was Alan Kay, the Dynabook inventor, who turned our crystal ball metaphor into a hair ball (you had to be there) followed by panel of visionaries that was interrupted by David Pogue, dressed as Grandpa Pogue from the year 2040, who provided a first-person look at what kids will be doing with technology in three decades. We were treated to panels on virtual words, future interfaces , Internet safety, diversity and the future of television. Each was stocked with leading researchers, developers and smart moderators.

You can review the day’s agenda and our mind-boggling roster of panels and speakers.

In between the sessions, JP Dyson of the Strong Museum of Play  made his Vegas debut, with demonstrations of classic products, and an afternoon Government panel included a visit by FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski  and the Department of Education's Karen Cator .

Warren Buckleitner Talks to ABC News about the KAPi Awards The KAPis (Kids at Play Interactive Awards) are given to creators of kids'interactive media for breaking new ground in the use of technology.
We ended the day by voting on the first ever KAPi Awards, honoring the top 10 products, and one person, who made the best products of the year.

Stay tuned for videos and photos from the show floor and conferences.  Check out the press coverage that Kids@Play received.

It was a very full, rich day. Now that we've predicted the future, let's see if it happens!

See you at CES 2011 for the fourth Annual Kids@Play Summit!
